Useful Buckets

Aaron spends as much time as possible dribbling his basketball and shooting hoops in the garage. 

Darin made a makeshift hoop for him from the rim of a bucket and it has been a hit! 

Don't you love his outfit? Borrowed soccer shirt, tall soccer socks and always a tongue hanging out! :)

Meanwhile, his brothers drum and drum. It's almost like we're at a real basketball game... almost. 

Goofy Boys

One morning this week, the boys decided it would be funny to 

put on as many socks as they could find in their drawers. 

I think they counted at least 10 socks on each foot. Goofy boys!

Can you tell how "swollen" his legs look from all the socks?

They viewed it as extra padding and even layered many socks on their hands. 

It made it tricky to eat breakfast. :)

They were laughing hysterically and sliding around on the hardwood floors. Definitely a challenge to  refocus the boys for school after so much silliness! It's amazing how long this kept them entertained. How about an A+ for creativity and team work? Maybe we should donate the toys? 

Troopers

I have to say that these 5 kiddos (my three boys and two nieces) have been such troopers. Every day after we complete school, we've been getting them set up playing and then focusing our attention on unpacking and setting up house at Grammy and Poppy's. They have been cheerful and creative. There has certainly been the usual sibling bickering and conflict from my three, but overall they've held up well under the circumstances. We have some fun outings planned for next week when we take our spring break. Yippee!!!

They made some homes from the empty boxes and kept busy for a LONG time!

So thankful for great weather.

Flashback

Something reminded me of this photo today. Luke (age 4) and Ethan (age 2) shared both their room and their obsession with trash trucks. They were delighted to make trash piles with toys, books, clothes or whatever they could find. This is what I found one morning only 8 days after Aaron was born.

They had emptied their dresser and many books into their "trash truck" and were riding on the side of the truck making all sorts of wonderful noises.  I could have never imagined the bond these two would form and how much more creative they would be in each others company! Silly boys!

Room Time Creations

All three boys have room time Monday through Friday for about an hour or more. It's a necessary part of our day to keep me sane! I also think it's good for them to have some focused play independently since they are together most of the time. Some days run smoother then others. The other day, I had to smile when I found this set up from Aaron. 

I love that he allowed such a variety of creatures to be spectators as the train went around the track!
